Mr. Jones' career spans more than 25 years in the telecommunications industry. He has held senior management and executive positions at ITT Corp., Sprint, MCI Worldcom, Westinghouse Electric and SAVVIS COMMUNICATIONS, a leading Tier-1 national backbone Internet access provider. His background includes assignments in sales, marketing, business development and network operations & engineering. As Director of Operations and Engineering at ITT World Communications he built a 22-city nationwide data network and was responsible for the company's global message and packet data switching operations. He also represented ITT on standards committees of the International Telecommunications Union. As a national account sales director at MCI Worldcom, Mr. Jones was responsible for the sale and implementation of an $80 million contract for the outsourcing of J P Morgan's global telecommunications network. At Sprint, he managed the company's Western Sales Region, responsible for Charles Schwab, Apple Computer, Oracle, and Silicon Graphics and other large accounts. At SAVVIS COMMUNICATIONS, he was head of national account sales and marketing, winning numerous leading Internet E-commerce accounts, such as Exodus Communications, Excite, MatchLogic, CD-NOW and Music Boulevard, among others. Mr. Jones served in Viet Nam in 1968-69 as a 1st Lieutenant in the 1st Marine Division, US Marine Corps. Tenacity, teamwork, creativity and commitment were the concepts ingrained in him early on, and form the core of his principles today. A native New Yorker, Mr. Jones earned his BA from The City College of New York, CUNY and an MBA in Finance and Information Technology from Baruch College, CUNY. In addition to scouting new companies, he teaches "MBA Fundamentals: An Overview" (see description) at New York University , a course which prepares students for graduate business education. Over the years he has taught more than 600 students. He loves teaching, riding horses and baseball, having grown up rooting for the New York Yankees. In 1999, the Little League team he coaches won the Yorkville Youth Athletic League championship on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
